I purchased the Creme Brulee and the Caramel Souffle upon the urging of a friend. For her, the products do everything she’s looking for. Like most, I have multiple textures and like some, I deal with dryness. I am used to heavy creams and the Creme Brulee was not, so I was a little concerned. However, I have had good results even though the product is thin. I wear a wash n’ go. I use a combination of jojoba and castor oil with rosemary and carrot seed essential oils along with the two KERAVADA products. Initially, I wasn’t thrilled with my Day One hair because the coils didn’t clump as much as they used to, so my coils were thinner and smaller. After a few days it started to “grow” on me.
The products lost a star for moisture retention. Maybe my expectations were too high. What does 3-day moisture look like? The product also says “up to 3 days” but that doesn’t mean a guarantee of 3 days of moisture. To keep my curls popping, I find myself spritzing with water and Souffle and a little Brulee pretty much daily. Otherwise, every day my definition declines and my fro expands up and out for my 4B hair and gets tighter and tighter for my 4C hair. I can still work it with my 4B hair multiple days, but that 4C crown and back seems to cry out for water regardless of the product.
Will I continue using KERAVADA? Probably. The two products appear to work well together, and they’re easy for travel. So even if I can’t get 3 days of popping curls without replenishing the water, they do work well together and who knows, maybe after some time I will get to 3 days without having to wet my hair down. At least I don’t have to go through the whole wash process every few days. So, for me, that’s a very good thing ’cause shrinkage is real and natural hair isn’t for the weak or lazy.
